Much Too Young

Much Too Young

"When looking at kids like Elle Fanning, Kaia Crawford and just for the sake of this argument Kendall Jenner, how old is too young to model?"

The world of modeling world runs on a youth clock. Every year the models seem to look younger, and younger, as though you are never too young to model. If these designers could have their way they would use 10 year old kids to model clothes

that are somehow “designed” for adult women. Cindy Crawford recently announced that her 10 year old daughter would have to wait until 17 to resume her modeling career. This child was already modeling for Versace at 10. In the world of modeling looks are everything, which is why so many young girls try to get into the field as early as possible. I doubt Crawford’s daughter will have that problem. By all means she looks like a model, but having Crawford as her last name can only help her.

When looking at kids like Elle Fanning, Kaia Crawford and just for the sake of this argument Kendall Jenner, how old is too young to model? These girls are 13, 10 and 16 respectively, but Kendall has been modeling for a few years. The girl has already expressed her desire to model rather than go to college. This has nothing to do with their connections in the field, since there are tons of girls who have dreams of modeling that do not include college or normal jobs. I just wonder how young do you have to be before anyone feels odd that a 14, 15 or 16 is walking the catwalk showing more skin than fabric. In all honesty most people know what too young looks like, but with all the money to be made off of the dreams of young girls, “too young” begins to sound a lot like “old enough.”
